Vegastech is a community here in Las Vegas that started as individual interest groups, and is now flourishing into a honeycomb of connected and collaborative people, from tech Start-Ups to Biotech.
The community consists of people with many diverse talents: back end programmers, front end programmers, WordPress, Hackers, Robotics, Marketers, Business, User Experience, Designers, and many more. As a community of active, like-minded entrepreneurs, there is a strong desire for places to come together, to inspire, to support, and to collaborate. Located at 302 E. Carson in Downtown Las Vegas, the physical setting for Vegastech will be a co-working space, or shared working environment, set in an open office setting, with shared resources and amenities.
Working closely with the Zappos Downtown Project team, Aptus was asked to assist in designing Vegastech, and to translate the group energy into a space that functions for the needs of the thriving tech community. Co-working areas will be designed with flexibility so people can transition from desk to break-out meeting areas, to brainstorm space, to presentation and classroom settings. These are also transitional areas for social interaction, and the layout includes a large coffee bar with seating, and a “Main Street” which promotes the concept of community, and encourages chance encounters and serendipity throughout the space.
