Client: City of Las Vegas
This new training facility is located on a 2.5 acre plot of land along Jefferson and D streets, adjacent to the Historic West Side school. In this 2-phase project, Aptus was tasked with creating a master plan, linking the existing historic school with our site to the north. Then, we were to design construction documents for the placement and upgrades to the existing modular building.
Phase 1 – Master Plan
The existing school was to remain the same with an added continuation of a tree-lined walkway, leading into the modular buidling site to the north. Also, adjacent to the site along C street the CLV was looking to incorporate a 3,500 sf warehouse for the school with aditional parking. This scope ended up changing to include just the modular building and a small portion of the site surrounding it, leaving the remainder of the site undeveloped for future expansion.
Phase 2 – Employment Training Center Modular Building
The site contains two main buildings with a connecting outdoor walkway and trellis above. It is a prefabricated structure with a contemporary aesthetic including vinyl siding, stone veneer and a pitched roof. Because of the open floor plan, CLV wanted to reuse it as a computer lab/tech studio that would house a classroom for 45 students in the larger building, and a faculty office / restroom in the smaller building.
