Walking to Help Animal Shelters

Members of the Aptus family aren’t only of the human variety…many of us also have pets adopted from local shelters. So when Aptus challenged our staff and families to (virtually) walk between our offices in Las Vegas and Chicago earlier this summer, we added an incentive: finish in under a month and Aptus would make a donation to two local animal shelters in our communities. After knocking out those 3.5 million steps in just THREE weeks, we celebrated with a visit to the Nevada SPCA and Chicago’s One Tail at a Time and made some tail-waggingly cute new friends!

The Nevada SPCA Life-Saving Shelter takes in over 2,000 dogs, cats, rabbits, and other small pets annually, with an ultimate goal to place them into loving homes where they can thrive, provide companionship, and maintain rewarding relationships with their human family.

One Tail at a Time works to end pet homelessness by making pet ownership a joyful and accessible experience for all. They accomplish this by rescuing animals from overcrowded shelters, placing them in loving forever homes and providing support and resources to pet owners in need.
